American APM Electro Plating & Finishing Capabilities

Capabilities:
American Plating has a wide variety of plating capabilities. All of our plating is done in-house at our state-of-the-art facility built in 1999 in Chicago, Illinois. We have the ability to rack and barrel plate all types of parts and components within typical manufacturing size ranges. Currently, we plate parts in sizes ranging from a small screw to a large electrical connector.

Materials:
We have significant skill in the application of a number of plating materials including, but not limited to, the following (additional plating materials can be utilized on a custom order basis):
  • Brass
  • Nickel
  • Copper
  • Bronze
  • Tin
  • Silver

Appearances:
These plated materials can be rendered in a number of finishes from matte to high gloss, as well as from smooth to brushed. Also, we have processes available for sealing the plated parts, should that be a desirable or necessary feature.

Finishes:
In addition to plating, we also have a variety of operations for material preparation of parts that have already been plated, or which do not need plating services. These operations include tumble deburr/finishing, hand buffing, lacquering, and color oxidizing.

American Plating performs plating services for numerous companies in a variety of industries. Examples of our plating customers include: Illinois Central Railroad; Joslyn Manufacturing Co.; Lyon & Healy; and US Brass & Copper.
